Passion in progress...

These some ongoing personal projects that are near and dear to my heart!

Super Senses - Redesign

Back in 2016-2017 for my thesis project, I decided to pursue a project revolving around synesthesia.

Through my research I met with the Canadian Synesthesia Association, I discussed how the neurological phenomenon is something that impacts people in strange ways but not many people know about it. It became clear to me that my project should be something educational, specifically focusing on children who may or may not be experiencing this phenomenon but might not know how to properly express it.

After further research, I developed an activity kit with books and toys that focuses on 10 different characters that represent the 10 most reported kinds of synesthesia. The goal of the project is to playfully educate children and their parents about how people with this neurological phenomenon experience the world.

After spending time working in the design industry, I would like to revisit this project and rebrand it to something that could exist in the real world. Changes for this project would include better packaging, upgraded character design, more professional activity books for both child and parent, animation and more.

Subject: Good Morning! - Editorial

During the first 6 months of the pandemic, I would wake up every morning to an email in my mailbox titled “Good Morning!”. These were sent from my Dad, a lover of all things art. Every evening he would curate a photo, song, and quote that express a certain theme or emotion, and send it out to me the next morning. The emails were a mix of some of his own photography and writing, and other pieces he had found inspiring and relatable to the topic.

These messages were the highlight of my day during such an uncertain and difficult time. To honour this, I decided to start working on a book that beautifully showcases his collections.

Sprouthaus - Personal Branding

I spent the last couple years brainstorming a possible personal brand. My goal was to develop an identity that can be used as a little shop where I sell design and/or illustrations.

Sprouthaus was born, and between July 2024 - February 2025, I have sold my work at 6 markets! I am hoping to do more in the future!
