The Challenge
The Steam Whistle Brand was feeling lost in the sea of never-ending “trendy” rebrands. How do we bring life back to the brand, while still maintaining the “Steam Whistle” feel?

The Solution
Bring back retro-style elements from our past for a classic, timeless look that reflects our 3 core principles:
1. AUTHENTIC & APPROACHABLE
2. RETRO & NOSTALGIC
3. QUALITY CRAFTSMANSHIP.

Our Heritage Crest logo signifies the reward at the end of your day. It features a large Steam Whistle and takes inspiration from the 1950s – an era which embodied hard work, craftsmanship and community. With the decision to bring back our Heritage Crest as a full time mark, we feel we can retire use of the Corporate Logo. Ultimately, continuing with its use would only weaken the brand re-fresh by having our feet between two eras of design.

The Results
By taking the retro approach with our logos, typefaces, and illustrative elements, we have obtained an energetic and expressive look that honours the nostalgia of a bygone era. In combination with our upbeat colour pallete, it tells our story of approachability, authenticity and craftsmanship.
